I have had a Capital One since 2008. In April of 2009 i noticed that Equifax was not reporting my card at all but Transunion was. I called Capital One and Equifax and of course both said that they were not in the wrong at all. Capital One said that they send in the info to them monthly. Equifax says that they never got anything from Capital One. I had to fax over proof of my account to Equifax so they could post the info on my report do it could reflect my score. now its April 2010 and beleive it or not Equifax still is not reporting my card ??? So now i have lost 1.5 years of great scoring !!! I of course called Equifax back and Capital One but they both ensure me that they are not at fault again ??? Is this legal ?? I'm trying to rebuild my score after getting discharged from bankruptcy 2 years ago and my score doesn't even show anything because of these people ? How can i fix this once and for all ? Can i get back my year of lost scoring ?

Craig, I am not sure if they legally have to report. We can see what others say here. I know I always wondered why somethings showed up on one report but not another. I have had debts show up on one and positives show up on two reports and then one would only have few listings.

Hi Craig,

Can you tell me whether or not you have all the payment proofs? If you have you can send the copies of these to Equifax and request them to update your account.

Hope that this will work.

Thanks,

Aaron

this is an interesting problem. You can try complaints to the OCC, FDIC and maybe the Federal Reserve. I think these government agencies will let you know whether you Crap 1 legally has to report. Crap 1 has the worst customer service. I too used them to rebuild my credit but they treated me like dirt.

I've never had a Capital One credit card. I know people that have and they were having a horrible time dealing with Capital One. On my credit, there are things are being shown (in the 'positive') on ONE credit reports, but, not the others. Why this happens is beyond me. (From personal experience) there are some 'secured' cc's that won't report, to the CB's, but...some 'non-sucured' cc's that will.
