I just received a call from Folbridge LLC (a debt collector) harassing me, threatening me with jail time for a loan from a year and a half ago. I have received no mail, no information from these people until today. I explained that I was unemployed and could not make payment as large as 800 dollars. When I asked why I was just now being contacted they proceeded to tell me that they have my social security number and they have contacted my sister as well as my parents. This was not true.

Debts are civil case, not a criminal offense. So you can’t go to jail for nonpayment of debt. They are just trying to scare you. They have violated the FDCPA laws by disclosing your information with your family members. File a complaint against them immediately to the SAG or FTC.
