I live in NC and took out 2 payday loans last year in March. I am receiving calls that they are gonna have me served with criminal charges for these loans. I don't know what to do will somebody please give me some info on this. I am also suppose to be talking to an attorney "when they call me".They have even went as far as to tell me the name of the sheriff and the courthouse's address in the county where I live. They have called my husband at work and harassed him also. They said I will be served with these papers if I don't pay these loans back.

Don’t worry mate, they can’t do anything. They are just trying to scare you. Payday lending is prohibited in NC. You owe them nothing more than the principal balance. Close down your old bank account and open a new one. File a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC.
