Thank you for the reply here notforme, I think people need to see both sides of the coin. Glad you could work it out yourself. _________________ Goodnatured,

Hi notforme
You should never pay without getting the debt validated. If they cannot validate the debt within 30 days from the receipt of the letter, they have to remove the listing from your credit report and your credit score will improve without paying them back. Now if the other two has not yet validated the debt, you need not pay them back after 30 days from the date they have validated the debt. _________________ Where there's a will, there's a way !! |

| hey amy, i worked with RMCN and got great results. and i know if they dont get anything removed, like you said, they give you your money back. So i kind of dont believe your comments. credit repair does work, but you can keep messing up your credit, and expect them to be able to realisticly help you. it sounds like you need to look in the mirror a little bit!! |

I think it is wise to repair your credit by yourself because doing this you can save the money you need to pay to the credit repair agencies. You can use this money to pay off your debt and avoid judgment. Repairing credit by yourself is not at all difficult and for this you need to check your credit report regularly and dispute any incorrect entries in your credit report such as hard inquiries and incorrect debt listings. _________________ All the Best

RMCN has slick marketing and a high price.
They can do nothing more than anyone can do themselves. They claim to have a V phase program but will not disclose what that is. In fact, through the one year program, I constantly asked which phase I am in and never received an answer.
I have been liberated of $1600.00 and did see some results right away after initial dispute letters were sent out. RMCN communicated in codes which were hard to understand and never was able to give any straight answers to my status or especially able to do anything more than general disputes.
In particular I had three misreported and outdated items and plenty of documentation to show they should be removed. I requested the personal attention Mike Doyle, sales/customer service rep, claimed they would give my accounts if I signed up. RMCN could not get the job done or even show they would do anymore than send generic letters. Mike is also very busy with sales efforts.
Doug Parker, president of RMCN was involved a few times at my request but left the work to others who never returned my calls, answered my e-mails or worked on my account.
Marketing and sales of an overpriced product will creat one of the fastest growing companies in Texas.
After four more months of run around, I have hired Your credit 101 to do the clean up at a whopping $299.00 |

I did not think that child support leans were reported on your credit report, are they in a form of a judgement?
Child support and taxes are two of the strongest debtors that I know of, in Pennsylvania if you are behind on child support they will yank your driver's license, dock your pay and take your taxes if you have coming to you. _________________ Goodnatured,

I've read almost 6 pages of responses regarding do-it-yourself vs. hire a credit repair company strategies. I have done both; my advice is to evaluate your level of commitment to repairing your credit and then make the decision to either send the letters yourself or pay to have someone send them for you. Yes, you can do it yourself, but it requires a certain level of tenacity and determination. Yes, you can "hire it out," but again, it boils down to whether you'd rather spend the time (make no mistake, it requires a lot of phone/email/post office time) or hire it out. I didn't use RMCN, but if you broke down the monies I spent against the number of hours my credit repair company spent, you'd quickly realize the "hire it out" strategy quickly becomes tempting as I'm pretty sure they only made about $2.50/hour.
Bottom line: there is no magic potion, and there are no magic letters floating around out there to send these bureaus; so make the decision to either "in-house" it or "out-source" it. |

I DO believe that credit repair probably does work for a good deal of people, but not from this company. My ex-wife used them after our divorce to go after a handful of items. After working on her case for over 7 months and seeing little change, she stopped calling them for updates. The guy who signed her up only called to ask if there was anyone she knew with poor credit that she could recommend the company to. She called numerous times, only to be blown off every time. When she finally called in to speak with a manager, the General Manager did not help. He said she was done paying and he would make sure they stopped work on her case. All she wanted was an update that her contact could not provide, not to be told she was paid in full so they would stop work on her case. If anyone knows of a legitimate credit repair company, please share. We need her credit fixed.

It is very difficult to find out a good credit repair company. Most of them promise to remove all the negative items from your report, but practically it is not possible to remove some information like bankruptcies, charge off and judgment from your report. If you go through the FTC website, you will find that they claim most of the repair companies to be fraud who make false claims of their services. Moreover, as per the FTC act, a credit repair company cannot charge for their service unless they have performed the service they have promised. _________________ Keep in touch
