I stumbled across a Credit Union's site the other day offering a credit re-builder program. For anyone trying to rebuild their credit this seems like a great option. The only problem is that most credit unions are local and you (or a family member) have to be a member.
Not all are offering programs like this though. When searching local credit unions I found that if the bank offers a secured credit card, there was a 50/50 shot of offering secured personal loans, some of them have turned their package into a re-builder program.
These are some of the ones I have found so far:
* Day Air Credit Union
* First Financial Federal Credit Union
* HEW Federal Credit Union
* Ledge Light Federal Credit Union
* Navy Federal Credit Union
* Northwest Georgia Credit Union
* Salal Credit Union |

| Great tips, KATRINA!!! I live in a very small town. None of these Credit Union names sound familiar. However....there IS a Credit Union, here loaclly, that is 'associated' with a local University here. I'm about to start school in the Fall (at the University) and I'll check and see if the credit Union has any kind of program like that. |

| Shop around with the credit unions to see their actual specifics for secured loans. Some will do a credit check and some will not, which is what you prefer. Also make sure that they are reporting to the credit bureaus. |
