If they are ignoring a debtor for the first time, one should not lose patience. Re-negotiation is important and it is quite likely that a proposal for settlement will be accepted.
If it is too tough to "settle" with the creditors, one should look for a debt settlement company that is a reputed firm. It is always advisable to check with the local BBB and the DA's office for consumer feedbacks. All consumer complaints against a firm are recorded there.
