I have sent a validation letter to a collection agency as they are trying to collect a 5-year-old credit card. This is the only delinquent account on my credit report. The collection agency has not sent me anything yet. They have only called me repeatedly. They have even called my boss and family members. What should I do now?

You should inform the collection about your intention to bring a lawsuit against them on grounds of calling your boss/family members regarding your debt and violating the FDCPA.

Welcome to the forums!!!
Since they didn’t give any rely of your debt validation request letter, so send them a Cease and Desist letter in writing via certified mail with a return receipt request. After that if they are still trying to harass you, file a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC.

Which is the state you are in? Even if the collection agency has not yet sent a reply to your validation request, wait for a few more days. However, as for the other part, you can file a complaint against them with the FTC, as calling your boss and family is violation of FDCPA. It would not be wise of you to straight away threaten to sue them!!!
