I have lots of medical collections on my Credit Report and would like to try to get some of these removed. Some of these accounts are old and some new. What is this pre-letter that I am supposed to send? Am I supposed to send this letter to CRA? Does this always work? I'm sorry, I am new, and have no idea about this.

Hello, welcome to the forum!! I just want to ask you have you looked at your credit report to see how old the debts are?? Usually, debts stay on your credit reports for 7 years. However, most SOL's (statue of limitations) in most states are 4 years. That means if the debt on your ceit report is 4 years or older, the creditor can not sue you. Also, after 7 years the debt should come off our credit report. On CR's (credit reports) you should see a 'drop off' date..this is the date when the debt should drop off your CR. The first thing you shuld do is look at your CR and give us an update on dates, etc. Hope this info helps a bit.

Welcome to the forums!!!
All kind of negative items will remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. It will automatically be removed after 7 years. I haven’t heard about any pre-letter before. You should check the last date of your payment.
