I sent several CA a certified debt validation letter 30 days ago and have heard nothing back. What are the steps I take now? My understanding is that if they don't respond, I can have the lines removed from my credit report, is this correct? Do I send the three agencies a letter saying I contacted the CA and no response so please remove?

Nope, you can’t remove them. Negative items will remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. If the CA don’t give you any reply, then inform this matter to the credit bureaus immediately. Send a copy of debt validation request letter to the credit bureaus.
