If you are referring to this site I would honestly say yes it has helped. Sure you have to be willing to learn how to do it and add in a little leg work but there are excellent ideas around here for building credit. Now if you are talking about repair services in general there are many mixed views on this subject here at the forum.

Most credit repair companies are scams. They promise to remove the negative items from your credit report in return of a fee, but the real fact is that they do not bother to repair your credit after taking the fee from you. So I think that one should always focus on repairing your credit by yourself. For this you can go through this forum. It is a credit forum and has helped many of us to learn how to repair our own credit.

Yes, I agree with you Carol. Pull out your credit report, send DV letters to the creditors by certified mail and then send dispute letters to the bureaus if you do not get validation of the debt within 30 days of receipt of your letter. If you get validation of your debt, pay it off under PFD agreement and get the listing out of your report. In case of hard inquiry listing, get it removed from your report by asking the inquirer either to verify your authorization or get the listing removed from your credit report. In most cases the inquires remove the listing since they cannot verify your authorization. However, if they can verify your authorization, they will not remove the listing from your credit report.

Yes, your credit can be best repaired if you try it by yourself. Most of the credit repair companies take fees and promise to repair your credit but in fact they only remove the unauthorized hard inquires from your report. They also promise to remove all the negative debt listings from your report, but correct listings can never be removed from your credit report. You can use the sample letters in the site to repair your credit.

This site gives you the tools to help you. The forum doesn't DO IT for you, however. If you want to improve your credit, you have to be willing to do so. Sometimes it's difficult to 'get started' ( ain't that the truth..LOL). But...people, on this forum are willing to help.

Thats says it all SD. I miss the job I use to do before the accident disabled me from performing my work and new management took over listing me as a liability. Sometimes I feel really lost with so much time on my hands but I know I got to concentrate on getting all the care I need and not making my injury worse. As to the above post..there are just somethings you can not figure out.

Can't bury your head under the pillow. This isn't going to solve anything. If your debts are behind and npt protected by any SOL's then you risk being sued and really losing things. Try to keep a positive outlook and relize nothing is the end of the world. Start with one debt at a time and work up from there. If you need help just come here and ask. We all have been there so we can help you figure any credit mess out.

You really need to prioritize, which is the most important to you and work on them first. Like house, car, etc and then you can work on the credit cards and other payments that don't take away from your needs like food, shelter and transportation.

Yes, Goodnatured is right. Before you start repairing your credit by paying off the outstanding debts, you should first prioritize your debt. For example, if you have existing payday loans, you should immediately pay them off as the high interest on these loans add up to your existing debt and may put your in a debt trap. The next priority should be your credit card debts, because here also the rates are very high. You can ask your cc company for repayment plans which will help you to pay off the debts. You can go for debt consolidation loans to pay back these debts. But for that you need to have a good credit score.

one can go for debt consolidation loans to pay off the payday loans immediately, but for repaying back the outstanding credit card debts, I think that one should go for balance transfer credit cards, if the credit card debt has not been delinquent. If you have payday loans, it is always essential to pay it off as fast as possible since the interest charges on these loans are very high. But credit card outstanding amount can be transferred to zero APR balance transfer credit cards and so you can give it a second priority.

I was thinking about a balance transfer from my Dell account oto a zero interest card. I have no actual credit card from dell just an account opened on the web. Wonder if I can still transfer that debt to a zero interest card if I have the account numbers. What do you think aboujt this Justin? Does it sound possible? I will keep my fingers crossed here.
