Does paying a bill after expiration period hurt a credit profile. I am pretty regular with my payments. But last month I was bit creless.

Thanks

I dont think it will actually hurt your credit profile. But yep it will increase the interest rate.

some companies have it in thier fine print that a late payment gives them the right to raise the interest with out futher notice.ive never heard of it hurting your credit unless you do it all the time. credit is a touchy thing it varys in every company and differant from banks.

You should call them and ask them for a break since you are a pretty good customer, they will probably give you a break, but call ahead of time to let them know, that way they may not plug the fee on the bill too.

I agree erb, have you called your creditor to see if they can't extend the due date? i've had to do that a couple of times and usually it will take late payment fees away. definitely call though if you havne't already. i made the mistake of letting a bill go a few days, didn't call, and i was slammed with a double payment PLUS a nice $25 late fee. that stunk!
