Subject: Credit Repair that actually works

I have three charged off credit card accounts on 2 of the three credit agencies. I was able to get them off Equifax. Any recommendations on a service provider that actually works? No luck on getting off the other two and last repair service I tried a few months ago did nothing. Don't know where to turn now.

Sorry but you just have to face the facts here. Credit repair companies are nothing but scams. Just because Equifax removed them doesn't mean that they won't show back up in the near future. The FTC has a good article about these kind of companies that I would advise you to read, http://ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/repair.shtm. Instead of paying companies to try to cheat the system you should start saving that money to just payoff and take care of the accounts. Maybe contact them and tell them you are willing to pay off the debts if they will first send you a letter stating they will remove it from your credit reports when paid. It doesn't always work but its worth a shot. _________________ Scott McKay

YEA...great advice, 'from above'..!!LOL I've researched alot of 'credit repair companies'. Also...looked on the BBB site, to see if they are legit. I've come across a few who have MEGA complaints. The ONLY real way to clear your credit, and it won't cost you a dime, is to do it yourself. Some people, on this forum, have wonderful advice, to lead you in the right direction.

I've done so initially with a company and they were able to get EQ clean, that's been over a year now and it's still off and it worked partially. Then, I tried a company that was worthless. This is why I ask of a good company. The original on went out of business, but did work for me. I have sent letters to the other two to work on clearing them up but the send me that same ole same ol, " we have valuated with the creditor and it has been updated", funny how they don't have to prove that to me, just saying it is enought.... yet nothing was changed. I called them and they basically tell me to deal with the creditor. Well the creditor has no use to speak to me because they sold it off and no longer own it, so I feel stuck.
Aside from this, where would I start and what process do you recommend that would actually work? |

When I had items deleted, from my Credit Reports, I've actually had them mailed to me...with ALL 3 CB's telling me "these items have been 'updated' and deleted." However.....of course, these were items that SOL had expired.

Actually I don't mean to be rude but not all Credit Repair companies are scams. I actually had 30 out of 32 negative items removed from my reports at all 3 agencies. I am new, and not sure of the rules. So I don't want to post the name of the company. If you would like to know you can send me a message.

They are not scams I agree with boxer. But what peaple dont understand is they are nothing special. You can do the same exact thing they are doing, and have complete control over it just by doing your homework. Chances are, If you are trying your best to get your credit back to the top you dont really have the money to blow on a lawyer thats gunna use the same letters that you can use. Peaple fear standing up against the beast, knowledge is the strength to fight the beast. You can do the same thing they will do, nothing different.

There has been alot of advice on Credit Repair. I know lots of you say most of these companies are scams..but, some are not. Maybe I haven't found the ones that are NOT yet. I'd probably save myself a headache, if I do it myself, anyway.

Hi Guest...we still dont see you logged in. Infact I would love to know about the companies that are not scams. It is so difficult to find a good one amongst all the rotten ones. _________________ Regards,
