No mention of a refund

I had a loan with Plain Green and thanks to this site I discovered it was illegal in my state. (Ohio) I sent them a letter and explained to them that I wanted my account settled in full and that the $600 I overpaid to be refunded to me due to the fact they were illegal. I received a response and they said my loan is considered paid in full but there was no mention of a refund. Do I keep asking them for the refund or do I just walk away with a very expensive lesson learned?

Either way it is pretty tough to make them refund you the excess money. If you insist on getting back that money, then file a complaint with the CFPB and talk to an attorney for proper course of action in this regard.

Welcome to the forums!!!
You can ask Plain Green for the refund, but I don’t think they will return back your money. It full depends on their discretion whether or not to refund your money. You can’t do anything in this regard.
