Subject: I sent a Pay for Deletion letter... Now what?

Hello again!

Well, I sent out a Pay for Deletion letter almost three weeks ago, and I have yet to receive a response.
If I never receive a response, what should I do then?

As always any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your time,
Sean C.

Hi SeanChuck,

Did you send the letter via certified mail? I think you should call the collection agency to ask, if they agree to the the terms mentioned on your "Pay for Deletion Letter". If they agree, you should request them to send a written confirmation on their company letterhead, duly signed by the head of the company.

In case the CA does not agree to the terms of your "Pay for deletion Letter", you should send them a second letter. This letter should express your willingness to pay the debts. You can also mention that you are in the process of fixing your credit records, and would first make payments to other creditors with whom you have already come to a pay for deletion agreement. This letter can be effective because, if the collection agency realizes they won't get paid (while others will), they may agree to accept payments according to your terms.
