Subject: Payday loan help Fast!

Posted on Tue Feb 12, 2008 5:48 pm

I had an internet payday loan with The Loan Shop/Westbury Ventures. I have paid 960 dollars on a 400 dollar payday loan. I stoped payment with my bank. Which then they changed their ACH name and withdrew 520 dollars. My bank has since credited me for that amount. I just received a call from Ms. Davis stating they are getting ready to file paperwork and I must send a 390 settlement amount to them by money gram today. I have paid 560 dollars over the original loan amount. The company states they are in Deleware, I am in arizona, isn't there a cap on charges. I don't really have 390 to send them, is there anything I can do?

OMG. I am so sorry this has happened to you. Do you have the terms you agreed to? Can you scan them for us? That seems like more of a scam than a payday loan if you ask me. I'd be interested in reading the TOS for the loan. Don't give in to their demands! They are scum!

that's awful. these payday loans can be very helpful sometimes but you should also remember that you have to repay them or else there will be trouble. Sad

You are better off paying off these companies and getting away from them.

The problem with the PDL's are that they charge extremely high rate of interest crossing the ethical limits.

The basic thing is that nobody should ever think or opt for a PDL in any case in life. It is a loop hole and definitely to pull you in before you realize.

The states or the feds need to put some limits on these companies, it is ridiculous what they charge and they get a way with it. They charge so much it is impossible to pay them off.

Yes, I too think so goodnatured. Fed should place a ceiling on the interest rates charged by the PDL companies. Actually, Laura the main thing is that when you are seriously in need for money there is no other option except pay day loans.
