I live in florida and took out several payday loans I could not pay back. I closed my account to keep from having anymore money debited from my account. I am now getting a call from a man that says he is from a law office and they had pending charges against me for check fraud and were going to send information to my HR dept at work and have me arrested either at my home or work. Can they do that and can I be charged.
Did you demand a DV letter? Don't take any step before you demand a debt validation letter.
No they cannot arrest you..period.

No you can’t get arrested. Debts are civil case, not a criminal offense. You should file a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC immediately.
