I believe I have a collection on a loan I took out with Plain Green loans on my credit report. If an illegal payday company sells your account to a collection agency are you still liable for the principle amount only?

Yeah…of course you are responsible only for the principal. Since the original lender is illegal, so you owe nothing more than the principal.
