i recently opened a credit card account to rebuild my credit since all the credit i had was bad...i didn't qualify for a great credit card, my credit card limit for now is 300 dollars and almost half of the card balance was ran up by fees...the annual fee and an additional card fee...the low limit will keep me on track to paying it off every month...

Sounds like you have things 'organized' for yourself, VFSALINAS05. It's tough to 'start over' again,...however....if I can do it, anyone can!! (My personal feelings, anyway). I was really 'lost', in reguards on how to fix my credit, how to deal with CA's, defaulted CC's, etc. This site has helped me tremendously. Every little bit you do (paying off balances, paying things on time, etc), does raise your Credit score.

I was overwhelmed too..i have also found this website very helpful too. When I first tried to get a home they were offering something like they would pay to fix your credit in the purchase of a home but since I didn't have any good credit, I would be left with nothing. I messed up my credit right when I was 18, when I wasn't yet responsible to handle credit. Now I realize I made mistakes and trying to make corrections...

I admire the people (most of them, anyway...the ones that don't 'spam' on the Forum) who really want to help themselves. 'You' start out with 'baby steps' and correct what you can.

tracy (not verified)

If you are being treated like a pariah by banks and credit card companies, you need to establish the reason. All should be revealed by your credit reference file, which records your past borrowing behavior.

The best thing to do if you have a credit card, is to pay the balance off each month..instead of the monthly payment. Or, if you can't pay the balance off..........pay the monthly payment with a little extra money to cover the interest of the credit card.
