I sent a debt validation letter to collections agency. They are now asking for further identifying information. Asked for my SSN, name of original creditor, creditor's account/reference number and billing address.

I don't have any of the above and I sure am not giving them my social. What can I do?

I'm thinking of sending a letter back stating I don't have any of that info and I'm not giving out my SSN.

They took their time sending the letter. Didn't receive it until the 28th day. :/

Welcome to the forums!!!
Ask the collection agency to validate the debt in writing via certified mail with a return receipt request. If they don’t give any reply, then don’t make any payments. Don’t share your personal information with them without a valid proof. I think they are scammers.

They responded to my debt validation letter asking for more information.

I'm not going to give them any more.
