To make a long story short, I was told by my lender that I will either have to get the account deleted on my credit report or continue renting for another year. Is there any way around this? This is actually my second company I've gone to.
I was told that some accounts included in my bankruptcy were still showing as charge off on the credit report. I thought my score would increase, it did at some agencies but not others. It went from 571/590/593 to 571/591/573.

P.S. I have tried contacting both the original creditor and collection firm about this account but they will not budge.

I call Fashion Bug and they tell me to contact the law firm since it's out of their hands. I have offered Pay for Delete to both with no avail. Someone else suggested I try a Goodwill Letter to a company executive.

I guess you could send a Dv letter to the OC and the CA once they have signed for the letters dispute the listings with the CBS. Since the OC and CA will be unable to give any neg info to the CBS until they validate to you the listing will be deleted until they validate to you. Once they are deleted run, dont walk ;) to your bank and get your pre approval.
This is only a temp fix but, it might fit your needs. YOu also might find the CA more agreeable to a PFD offer if the alternative is lots of legwork finding old documents.
This is not the best solution to the problem but, it just might work....
I think that you should send a DV letter to the CA and if they validate your debt, it is better to pay it off since "paid and settled" status is much better the the debt showing unpaid. This I think will help you later in getting credit. However, you can also try the process of CMBV. But if they cannot validate your debt, they have to remove their listing from your credit report. So try and sent a DV letter first..
It is not clear from your post whether you have offered a payment-in-full in exchange for a pay-for-delete. If you have not done so, sweetening the deal may help.
I think goodwill letters are most effective when the debt has been paid in full immediately following contact, however, you have little to lose. I also beleive that goodwill letters are likely to be ignored if you have sent a DV letter.
