Is there anyway to get a paid debt removed? This was a past gas bill I never knew I had because they did not ship to the new address so once i found out about it debt on my credit I paid it. I never knew about the pay to delete letter till just a few weeks ago.
So what can I do on this?
Call the gas company and let them know that you paid it. Then I would send all the proof that you have on paying that bill. I would type a letter and send it to all three credit agencies. Make sure you send it certified. It is to late to send the Pay to delete letter because this bill is paid. If you do not have the proof call the creditor that you paid and ask for the proof of payment.

I would take the advice of the people above. The 'Inquiry' was made by the Gas Company..OR..a CA who was collecting for them? You may want to contact either one of them, first, and see if they will remove the inquiry from your CR.

Mostly when a borrower does not make any payment towards a debt for a continuous period of 150 to 180 days, the creditor considers the debt as a bad debt and charges it off. After charging off a debt, the creditor sells it off to a collection agency and the CA tries to collect the debt. Once you pay off the debt to the CA, the CA marks the debt as "paid charge off" in your credit report.
If a debt has been reported as delinquent in your credit report, it cannot be removed before the seven year period, even if you pay it off in full. Now, since the debt has already been paid in full, the creditor will generally not agree to remove it from your credit report as they do not have any incentive to do because they have already received the payment.
I called the first one today and I was on the phone while the filed the the claim. This was for a medical bill. I got his name and id so I will have see if it removed. He said it would take 30 to 60 days to be removed
I got 3 more done these were past paid doctor bills and a gas bill. So there away. Btw this is 1insane
