Raising your score that much in that short of a time will be impossible, you could do some raising by applying for a credit card, shop for a little and then pay it down and maintain a good payment history on the card, this will improve your score, but not 100 points in that amount of time.

But I could be wrong, maybe someone else has some fantastic way, so hang out and wait for others to come on board and answer.

I agree with goodnatured, that seems like an impossible mission to raise your score that quickly. I wish it were that fast and that easy. I do agree that you could start building your credit with one card and go from there. It will be a start anyway.

I wanna add my '2 cents' to this conversasion ( as usual..LOL). Also.every time you apply for credit, your credit score does go down a bit.

if you get someone to add you as an authorized user or joint account holder on an credit account this may raise your account the desired amount depending on the age and payment history of the account.

They do take into consideration on a joint account, but I don't know about any authorized user, I don't think any of there information, they have the primary account holder to deal with.

I would also suggest opening a CC so that you can start to build credit history

Good advice, CMB. However.......please be really careful of those 'bad credit CC's'. They can really have a HIGH % on them and alot of fees.

Do your research, make sure you read the fine print and all the contract mumbo jumbo.

I agree, GOODNATURED. All of that " mumbo jumbo" can really get ya. Ask questions if you need to....not that they will actually be answered ( personal experience, I guess.)

Well, what amazes me is that they tell you all the good stuff up front and hide the potentially bad parts in the fine print. It is up to you as the consumer to look a little deeper and find out everything you can, after all it is your credit score that this will affect in the long run.

Thats how they lure you in good natured. It is exactly what happened to me 6 or so years ago that got me a bad mark on my credit. I had no credit and took an offer. Wasn't a good move at all.

Fireyone,
I think it will be pretty tough to get credit right now, with the new laws that are being passed for the credit card companies they will have to be more selective on who they extend credit too and they can not just raise intrest when they want with out giving the consumer ample time to respond and get it paid off prior to the new rate taking effect.
