Subject: lender sold my home loan will missed payments be on credit

Posted on Fri Jun 27, 2008 10:01 pm

I missed 4 of my mortgage payments when I graduated from college because of the inability to find a job once I was employed the mortgage company agreed to allow me to repay the missed payments through a repayment plan. Once the plan ended and I was current on my payments for six months the mortgage company sold my loan. Since my loan was sold, will the missed mortgage payments from my old lender still appear on my credit report

The sale of your loan should not effect what is already on your CR. The only change you should see is that your previous banks loan will show as sold

If the listing has been removed by your original lender, it will not be shown in your credit report even if your loan has been sold off by your lender. However if your lender has not removed it yet, it will stay on your credit report. The change is that as CMBV pointed out, you will find the name of the collection agency to whom your loan account is sold.
