I would like to know if payday loans are illegal in MD and if so can they be stopped from taking money from my bank account.

Payday lending is prohibited in MD. That means all lenders are illegal in this state. If your lenders are illegal, then it would be better for you to close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account.
