Subject: validating a "summons"

Hi there,
I have the start-up letter from (Laura) re: validating. Could you help me with an opening line that applies to the summons.
I will use the rest of her outline. to finish.

Because I did not get the infomation from a "credit report". I got it from the summons itself.
So I need an easier opening line. in the format to address the summons.

kind regards,
Dennis Perez

Hi Dperez
There is no such letter to file a reply to a summon. You need to visit the court from where you have received the summon and fill up a "response to summon" form from the clerk's office in the court itself. There you may deny or accept the debt for which you have been sued. You need to fill up the response to the summon within the date mentioned on the summon, else a default judgment may be brought against you by the creditor.

You cannot validate a summon. Only outstanding debts which appears on your credit report or debts for which the creditor has send you a collection notice, can be validated. Summon is a notice from the court and as Carol said, you need to visit the court or appoint an attorney to file a response on your behalf. Mostly, you need to reply to a summon within 30 days from the date of receiving the summon.
