How long does it take someone to do a complete credit repair? Has anyone been completely through the process? What is the time frame for your score to start to come up?

I think each case is different. I depends on the shape of your credit when you start and a whole lot of factors.

If you would like to know about your own report I would advise being a little more in depth. Ask question directly and don't be afraid to put it out there. If you don't ask...you will never know.

I would think that repairing your credit would be a process that could take several years (maybe thats too long). You would have to make your payments on time, clear up any other delinquencies, make good on old debts, etc.just for starters. I don't think it will be something that you can just do in a matter of months and it (as mentioned) above depends on your debt situation.

Hi erb
As far as I know repairing your credit may take a few months. It is a time consuming process and so you should have patience while you involve yourself in the process. As for example when you are sending a debt validation letter to a collection agency, you should wait for at least 30 days from the date they receive your letter. If they do not validate within 30 days, you can send a dispute letter to the credit bureaus asking them to delete the listing. Again you need to wait for a few days for getting it deleted from your report by the CRAs.

I agree with Justin on this point. I prefer to repair credit by myself because even if you go for credit repair agencies to repair your credit they will take the time. So it is better to do it by yourself. Even the Federal Trade Commission suggests that self help is the best way to repair your own credit because even after you pay them money to repair your credit, these repair agencies may not repair your credit and your credit report will remain as it is.

Yes, but no credit repair companies can remove negative information from your credit report if it is accurate. Hard inquiries remain in your credit report for two years and can only be removed if it has not been authorized by you. But if you have authorized a creditor to make hard inquiries, it may not be removed by the creditor. Again you cannot force a creditor to agree for a pay for deletion agreement to remove a negative listing from your credit report after you pay it off. So all that you can do is to request them to remove these listings and this negotiation may take some time.

That doesn't seem to long to get your report in order GN. I have been seeing a lot of your posts and feel you should be well on your way. Even if hard inquires don't fall off for two years at least if you have the rest cleaned up, so to speak, it should keep gewtting better with time.
