How long does 30 days past due show neg. on your credit

Does anyone know how your credit is affected. I've had a car loan for 3 years and have a 30 day late account history on 4 different months in 2007. I have since cleared it up and made on time payments for the past three months. I know the 30 days past due is negative but will it ever go positive and about how long does it take. Please help I'm trying to turn my credit around.

Where do you have your loan from..a bank or finance company? USUALLY, with a finance company ( talking from experience) WILL report it, on your CR if its late. However, if you 'catch up' on balance, they will report that your 'up to date' with your payments. Banks and finance companies USUALLY report monthly. Hope this answered your question.

First I'd like to say congratulations on getting back on top of your financial obligations! Athough more than likely it will show on your credit report for atleast a couple years the most important thing is that your are currently back to making your payments on time. You are already on the right path to increasing your credit score, you'll just have to deal with the damage that was dealt on keep marching on.

I know the 30 days past due is negative but will it ever go positive and about how long does it take.

The negatives can stay for seven years. Right now, your credit has taken a pretty big hit, but if you are able to pay off the car with no further lates, your score will eventually begin to rebound. I can't say for how long your score will be seriously affected (Fair Issac Co. keeps their scoring system closely guarded), but as time goes by, the affect any given negative has will begin to lessen. As you near the final payoff date, you can try your luck with a goodwill letter (requesting removal of the negative info) written to one of the finance company's executives...it's a pretty much a Hail Mary, but every once in a while, it works.

Also............concerning your Credit Report, the 'good credit outways the bad credit.' I say, TOO...congrats contining to clean up your Credit Report.

Negatives do not turn into positives. However these negatives are going to stay for 7 years, beyond which it is supposed to be dropped.

Lelani, its great that you have taken your step towards credit repair. Keep up with your payments and try not to open accounts immediately.

I had a phone service terminated, before 2 years are up. According to the phone company, I have a balance due of 129.00. I can pay this amount within 2 weeks. Will this show up on my credit report?

Sun, 08/31/2008 - 18:33 Permalink

if the debt has not gone to collections then no. Most utility companys dont hit your CR until they are sent to collections 2 weeks should be fine but, I would call the phone company and tell them about your plans

Call them immediately to be sure they don't turn it over to collections. Tell them you can pay the full amount in two weeks. Most will work with you especially since you are not doing it on payment arrangments.

Hi Tina
You should immediately pull out your credit report to find out whether they have updated the debt on your report or not. If they have not yet updated, immediately contact your phone company and pay it off. However, if it has already been listed in your credit report, send a DV letter to the phone company and on getting validation of your debt, try to convince them for pay for deletion agreement before you pay it off.

I have not even been 30 days late. However, the creditor calls me even after I sent them a certified letter to cease all calls. Isn't that illegal? Technically, I am barely 2 weeks late...

Fri, 08/28/2009 - 01:56 Permalink

If it is the original creditor they can call you if your payment is late, usually these are just courtesy calls before they get to 30 days late.

To answer your question yes it is illegal to call you after you have sent the certified letter to cease all calls even if it is the original creditor. No matter if you are two days late or two years late on your payment that company is no longer allowed to contact you via phone. But don't be a dummy, if you are going to be late call the company and let them know when you expect to make the payment. You did not borrow from your uncle and get to make the payment when you feel like with out any consequences. Be a bigger person and call them and you will find that most companies will work with you to a large extent and help you find ways to avoid late fee's and you will not have to worry about a whole bunch of YOU ARE LATE letters being sent to you!

the cease and desist applies to third parties, not original creditors.

I'm not sure what I bought it from Macy's on 2012 Nov. I moved out from USA for job reason and stayed out of USA till 2013 Jan. During that time Macy's sent mail to my old apartment and they filled late and debt for collection.
I had Good score and now it went down to very low.
I got CR report and I got to know that Macy's balance. I called the collection company and paid off without delay.

Can you help how to take out the Macy's report (debt) from my account where I didnt purposely delay or pay the amount. I was in in USA. What I need to do to take out that report.

it's my job to don post in these threads, But I had a woman in her 40s move towards the line n ask me if we sold "Philly Cheese Steak snacks, I was so confused I assumed I couldn hear her over the stupid grill having a seizure behind me so I asked her to repeat herself n sure enough she had just asked me for a Philly cheese steak at Chipotle. I told her no n she just went along with her usual order of a bowl or something, But I couldn shake off the that she was pranking me even though she was in her 40s. On a end note, It saddens me to inform y I going to quit earlier this week so I won have the privilege of serving Philly Cheese Steaks to people anymore.

I think everyone has that one relation who just pure poison. I honestly hope to god just (that is correct, your business) Don have that one loved one, But let be honest here: understand do. and then they suck, so you also hate them, and so you hate being around them, And if he or she say something hurtful about you or someone you care for, you should prepare snap right back, But you can because you'll have to do just feeds into their narcissistic complex.

That why Bojack mom always rubbed me the wrong way: I saw that puppy in her. I hated her as a result of I knew her, And I think that the best damn compliment I can give the character.

My mother struggled with substance addiction for most of her life. becoming an adult with her, my pops, And my older sister, Life was sweet rough. My mom perished from an overdose two days after my 14th birthday. My father passed on nine years later, After relapsing into alcoholism.

When Bojack talked about how everyone in his family was drowning, And they didn know how to save each other, It felt like someone punched me in tummy. I thought of what it was like, a little kid with my mother and my father and my sister. The screaming, The having some, The opposing.

from the feeling like I was drowning.

then, Later in the cartoon, When Bojack observed how losing a parent is like the show Becker, he was quoted saying this:

"associated with, You realize you never have the good interconnection you wanted, and as long as they were alive, even if you never admit it, a member of you, Stupidest goddamn a member of you, Was still holding on to that chance, And you didn even believe it until that chance went away,

It made me remember being 14 yoa, seated at my mother funeral, shouting. And I was crying because she was gone, of course, But I seemed to be crying because I never really had her. She had beautiful moments where she commemorated she could swim, Like Beatrice when she was dancing. But mostly it was drowning. now that all I have left of her.

This episode absolutely deleted me.
