Subject: Unauthorized credit inquiry

Posted on Sun Mar 29, 2009 11:39 am

Hello all,

I sent a letter to Cortrust bank about an "unauthorized credit inquiry" and they answered me by saying that I completed an application on line and this is why they hit my credit report. I don't remember this at all but, no prof of this action which in my letter I requested sufficient documentation that supports this action (none was sent to me). and then stated if I have any questions to give them a call..................Can I now dispute this to the Credit Bureau or what is my next step?

Yes, if you are sure that you have not applied for any credit card online, you can surely dispute it with the bureaus. The three bureaus will get the hard inquiry verified from the credit bureaus and get it removed from your credit report.

I have used a non-profit website that charged me only $15 to do removal of experian, transunion and equifax inquiries. They also do late comments but I didn't have any of those. I can only comment to the inquiry removal. check them out.... [url]RemoveMyCreditInquiries.org they remove the credit inquiries within 30 days by FCRA rules.
