I have a huge mess on my hands concerning my credit

Hi. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with straightening out my credit fiasco. I've been reading this site for a while and found alot of useful information.

A little about my backround: Back in late 2006, I became ill with PTSD(veteran of U.S. Army)and lost my job. Im actually pretty glad to be alive given the circumstances. For almost a year and a half I did not work.

I really dont know where to start this is so frustrating. I pulled my credit report and it shows that I have multiple charge offs,my parents credit cards,3 judgements and alot of hard inquires.

I've tried to validate alot of this debt and have not gotten a response back from alot of these collection agencys. I settled 2 of the judgements against me 3 months ago, however my credit report does not reflect that. The 2 judgements are medical bills when I had no insurance. I refused to go to the VA even though I was entitled to because they are horrible.

I really dont know what to do. All of my delinquencys started in 2006 and I live in NJ if that helps.

dispute the judgments on your credit report

Do an MOV letter on the CAs that did not response.

Hi Hopeless,

Can I know whether or not you have the proof of all the validation letters sent? Do you have payment proof of the judgments? Using the payment proofs you will be able to dispute the judgments.

Send dispute letters to the credit bureaus. You can use the sample dispute letter available with this community.

Thanks,

Aaron

I'm an Army Vet, myself (I still serve). Did you know with ALOT of Creditors, they (by law) have to give you, what you call a 'Hardship Break', if you have PTSD? Alot of them won't tell you that, however. I do have to say, though, you need the proof that you have PTSD (paperwork, etc). Did you serve overseas, etc? I was overseas one time. I know several people that were really 'messed up' from it. I know someone who may beable to help you. What state are you in?
