| I received a notice early in December about a credit card debt supposedly from Chase Manhattan Bank. I questioned them about when the court date was as I was not informed-they said that they notified me via mail in 2006 and therefore I cannot get any information regarding the charges etc. I did NOT live in Michigan at that time. So where did this letter go? I live in Minnesota. I phoned the number and they were not friendly and said that they would take the monies due out of my income taxes. Then ib late January, another letter arrives saying that their clients will accept a 60% payment. WE phoned to ask for monthly payments and again, not friendly-demanding that before we hung up we would give then a good faith payment-credit card of bank account number. We did neither. Found this web site and we are glad we did. |

| Are you helping the debtor or the collection agency? It is hard for me to tell. Either way I have not heard of the company you are looking for. You may want to visit the debt forum and asked your question there. Goodluck with your quest for information. |

| Does anyone have a phone number for this company. They are unwilling to accept a payoff and are going to start to garnish my wages. I want to talk directly to them. Any help would be appreciated. |

To garnish your wages, they would have to sue you and win. _________________ I don't dream since I quit sleeping |

| If anyone is looking for Worldwide dut to a debt they say you owe because of a Aspire card, Aspire A Mas, FreedomCard, Trubute, Imagine, Majestic, Aspen, Emerge and Fingerhut Credit Advantage Please take a look at the ftc.gov regarding a lawsuit against CopuCredit Corporation who is also owns Worldwide Asset Purchasing (The Hanna Family) in Atlanta. I have the direct contact information of a supervisor Charles Benefield (678) 322-3273. When I calld him he was very angry about me having his direct line. He told me he was going to call the police on me if I called him again. I thought that was very funny. If you can't contact him call a rep ther by the name of Antonia Goode (770)618-4311. Let me know if you need anymore info about this bottom feeding rat collection agency. I'm winning and I want everybody who has been affect by them to win. |

If the name of worldwide asset purchasing appears in your account, then either the debt has been sold off to the CA by BOA or the right to collect the debt has been transferred to the CA by the OC. You can send a DV letter to the CA to check whether the CA is legally permitted to collect your debt. However, even if they validate your debt properly, you should first check whether the SOL in your state has expired or not. If it has expired, then you need not pay off the debt but if it has not yet expired, you should pay it off as soon as possible to avoid judgment. _________________ Anthony Marx

I agree with Anthony. Only if the SOL in your state has expired, you need not pay it off and the outstanding amount will be the loss of the creditor. However, the negative listing will stay in your credit report for seven years from the date it gets listed in your credit report. But if the debt has not passed the statute of limitation, you need to pay it off as soon as possible else the creditor or the collection agency may bring judgment against you garnish your wages. However, if you stay in PA, Texas, north and South Carolina, wage cannot be garnished. _________________ Where there's a will, there's a way !! |

| I just received a Notice of Case Filing regarding this company. I do not even know if it is official because there is no official seals from court house but it does list the Civil Division that is in our county so it may be true but it does not tell me what to do or who I owe just them. Any suggestions on what I should do from this point. |

Hi C2
You can visit the court from where you have received the summon and the clerk in the court can tell you whether the letter the summon is official or not. If it is official, you should immediately file a response to the summon within 30 days from the date of receipt of the notice to avoid default judgment. While filing the response you can mention that you do not agree with the debt and you want a debt validation. After filing the response you can send a debt validation letter to the worldwide asset purchasing company. _________________ SCOTT
