I have to call Verizon on Monday, this is the second time that this has happened to me. Things show up on my verizon bill that I did not sign up for.

I had a fax deal on my account that I did not sign up for about six months ago, they were rapping me almost $16 a month. Got that all straightened out and got a refund.

Now on saturday I got my bill and there are two new things showing up that I did not sign up for, some type of email account for $15.95 a month and another item for $20 a month.

I am really irritated by this, it will take a few billing cycles to fix it. How can verizon keep letting this happen, the only thing they need is your name, address and phone number, this is all information that can be obtained just by picking up the phone book. I think verizon should have some type of verification in place to keep this type of unwanted activity from happening.

I am gonna call them on Monday and get it all straightened out. and let them know if it happens again, I am going with another phone company. I am really tired of dealing with this.

Hi,

I agree with you. You should call them and ask them to fix the problem. However, if they fail to comply to your request, you can let them know that you are going to take the services of another company, and stop using their facilities. That may work, because no company wants to lose their customers. If your claim is valid they will fix it :)

complaining about this is not hard, the contact info has to be included in the bill.

the question is whether you can freeze you account from allowing these add-ons.

I got a hold of the companies and they said that the service was signed up for over the internet. The first company tried to tell me that since they had the correct information that we would be responsible and then I could cancel it. I told them that I was not going to pay it and they could expect a complaint officer from our attorney generals office to call them. She immediately agreed to a complete refund.

Then I called Verizon, they put a block on my line and my phone bill was taken down to $49.95, big jump from the original $101 that made my eyes pop out of my head the other day.

I told verizon that they really need to examine that policy, if I were to call them and request a change in service they have a third party verification line to get new or change service through them, but any joe smo can go on there with information that can be taken from the phone book and sign me up for service.

I encourage people to examine their bills when they come in, this was totally uncalled for on my verizon bill. It is all taken care of now.

Hi Goodnatured, I am having problems with Verizon myself. actually spent two hours on the phone with them yesterday. For some unknown reason my phone ends up on call forwarding and when someone tries to call me they hear very irritating sounds. This has been happening almost every month.
I called them and told them simply undoing the call forwarding was not going to satisfy me this time. I wanted answers. Well same old song and dance. They say I must be doing it or someone is getting a hold of my phone. NO WAY. I can account for my phone at all times and their is simply no one who would have access to my phone.
Funny thing is they can see where it is being forwarded to but say it is against policy to give me that number or for them to call it their selves. Unreal. as of today I am still awaiting a call from an IT person. Probably will never get it.
