Hi
I just recently got a divorce but 8 years ago (when I was still married) my husband and I got a furniture line of credit it went into collections and than a charge off. Its been about 7 1/2 years now. How can I get it deleted? Or can't I?

Hi Jenn,

Yes, you can get it removed. It is supposed to fall of from your credit report after 7 years like any other negative item does. However, I think you can dispute it with the credit bureau through a dispute letter. Following this, the item should get removed.
