can the same collection show twice?

Subject: can the same collection show twice?

i have a collection account on my credit report showing twice. it is once showin under two bureaus and then it is showing under the third. it shows as two different even though it is the same, same account number, same collector so it shows i have 3 collection accounts instead of 2. can they do this? is there a way to get this fixed?

Hi Dawnjohn,

You can definitely get it fixed. You can dispute the incorrect information by sending a dispute letter to the bureau.
