how to add positive info to my credit report

I recently disputed items on my credit report, in doing so all info has been deleted, so now I'm showing a credit score of 0, how do I get my positive info back on my credit report?

Thank you

Since FICO score ranges between 300 to 850, if you get any score below 300, it will automatically show as zero on your credit report by default. Information deleted from your credit report can never be recovered and so you need to restart building credit again. For this you need to use your credit cards regularly and repay back within due date to build up a credit history. You should never be late with your payments and do not become delinquent on your cards.

You can send a certified mail to the credit bureaus and ask them to report back your positive history and other information. But I don't think that it will be possible for them to get back all your information if it has been deleted from their database. You need to start rebuilding your credit history again in order to build up a good credit score.

I recently checked my credit report. My score is only 541. I have a few collections that I have paid do these affect my score at all since I have paid them. What would you suggest about charge offed credit cards is it better to call them and try to pay them or hire someone to try and remove them ? Do you think my credit score will change to the good if I pay these off??

Hi Cpachak
Paying off a debt already reported as delinquent in your credit report does not improve your credit score. It only saves you from getting sued to the court by the creditor and getting a judgment against you. Now to improve your credit score you need to improve your credit history and for that you need to swipe your existing credit cards while making any payments with it and pay back the debt within the interest free due date or at least pay the "minimum amount" within the due date.

If an account is charged off, it does not mean that you are not required pay off the debt. Even after the account is charged off, the creditor can sue you to the court and bring judgment against you either to garnish your wages or your bank account. However, your credit score will not change even if you pay off the charged off account because charge off listing shows in your credit report for seven years and affect your credit score.

You would think the CB's would be smart enough ( lack of a better word) NOT to remove your 'positive' credit. Maybe the OP wasn't specific on WHAT she was Disputing...is this possible ( just a thought here.)? Also....keeping up with payments with loans, etc. will raise your score, as well.

if my credit report came back telling me something has been deleted from files what does this mean?

That means that they took something off of your credit report, did you file a dispute on a debt that was showing up? I don't think that they contact you if something falls off due to the allotted time frame of seven years, at least I have never been contacted about that. I would think that it was something you disputed.

I previously file bankruptcy in 2007 and was discharged but alot of the things on my credit report are still reporting deg. I now have 16 items deleted off with 1 postive account. Do you think my credit score has improved

the only way you can make sure that your Credit score hs improved is to 'order' your credit score VIA the Internet. I know you can get your Credit Report free (once a year) by going to annualcreditreport (dot) com. However....you DO have to pay for your credit score. AnnualCreditReport (dot) com doesn't have the Credit scores attached to the Credot reports.

,,,,also, I want to ask,..if you filed BK, did you 'discharge' all of your debts? If you did, you shouldn't have anything 'negative' on your CR. However...things like Student loans (etc) can't be 'discharged' in a BK. can you please let 'us' know what is still negative on your CR?

I have heard of credit scores dropping while disputing with the credit bureaus but I think I recall that they bounce back up if it is successful, I wish I had more info on that but thats all I have read on this website. I think someone mentioned that their score dropped about 50 points while they disputed but that it went back up after it was removed..hopefully yours will bounce back up after your dispute is successfull...good luck!

Is that really true?! Your credit score can DRP disputing items? What if the item, you're disputing, stays on your CR? Gosh....sounds crazy!! That's how 'we' try and 'fix' our credit,..by disouting items, etc.

To add good info on your credit report, why not start fresh? I would suggest to open new accounts and stay current on them and start rebuilding your credit that way. I am in the process of cleaning up my credit...I have a PFD agreement right now to remove the biggest debt (student loan) from my credit report. I took out a small personal loan and a low secured credit card and staying current and giving extra payments on them. It had been mentioned to me that in rebuilding your credit, it would be a good idea to take out a small personal loan and a secured credit card and pay it off every month...after a year or so, it will definitely leave your credit score in good standing....

Hi vilma,

You need to provide more information on this account of yours so that I and other members in the forum can help you in your problem. However, you can talk to your lender about this reporting.

Thanks,

Aaron

My credit was 742 2 weeks ago, I closed some accounts that were paid off, and had a collection account reported as paid, bc it said unpaid. Now my score is 658, how long will it take to bounce back up?

Hi Tabatha,

Your credit score lowered as you have closed down some of your accounts. As you have closed some of the accounts, your available credit has got lowered and your credit utilization in comparison has gone up. Thus, you are required to use your cards lightly and pay off the dues within the time limit. This will help you increase and maintain your score.

As for the time, I am afraid there is no specific time within which your score can increase. You need to have patience.

Thanks,

Aaron

The first poster is creorct, these are soft hits and will not affect your score at all.All insurance companies take credit history into account when they give people a quote for insurance now.
