I just notice on my credit report i have several names listed on my report. The names include my name, my fist name with my wifes last name, my name with my last named spelled wrong. Can I and should I have those names removed from my report?

wendel, You should be able to contact the bureaus and have this corrected. You have never used any of these names on credit applications with your social security number right? Sometimes when you apply for credit and use your social security number the name you applied with will be linked to your report. For example when a women gets married they will have the different names listed that she has used and applied for credit with.

HI wendel,

You have the right to dispute with the credit bureaus in case of inaccurate information in your credit report. Under Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the credit bureaus are supposed to provide correct information on the individual’s credit history. If there is any inaccuracy in the report, the concerned individual can definitely dispute it through a dispute letter. This should get those incorrect information removed.
