Hi all,

A mysterious medical bill with varying owed amounts that has been passed around to a few different CA's is quite a thorn in my side with regards to TU! EX & EQ deleted after sending the pre-HIPAA but not TU.

I sent a HIPAA follow up letter & barely 3 weeks later I get a 'verified' letter from TU(who,by the way,is reporting a different CA than EX & EQ did).

ANYHOW......what can I do? What is after the follow up HIPAA letter?

Hi Vonne,

Send TransUnion a re-investigation letter through certified mail, requesting a return receipt that requests them to re-investigate the fraudulent entry on your report from an unknown health care provider.
Tell them you are again providing proof of your identity and address, and request correction of any discrepancies.

Tell them that if they do not immediately delete this fraudulent entry that you will file a complaint against them with the appropriate authorities and reserve the right to take civil action for damages.

Along with the letter include a copy of your Social Security card, a copy of your drivers license.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Aaron

Hi Vonne,

I think you should try debt validation. Send a debt validation letter to the collections agency reporting this bill on your TransUnion credit report. Send the letter through certified mail requesting a return receipt.

As this debt is not your's, in all probability the collection agency won't be able to validate the debt. You can then dispute with TransUnion.

Thanks,

Rush
