I settled an account and the creditor is still reporting it as a collection with a zero balance. Is this correct?

Isharp,

No, it should show something like, ‘settled in full’ or ‘paid as agreed’ in your report. How long has it been that you have settled the account? Normally it takes more than 3 months to update the credit report. I would suggest you to wait for that time and then if you find it appearing in your report, write a dispute letter to the bureau. Also do not forget to call the creditor and ask about the listing.
