| I have seen ads for credit helping companies and credit counselors stating they can help with "late payments" and things like that on your credit. Is that possible? I thought that those are hard facts and you could not change them? |

I would believe it would be up to the company itself whether to remove late payments or not. You could call the company that you have late payments with yourself and see if there is anythin g you can do to remove the late payments.
Generally once an item is reported late on your credit report it will take up to twelve months of consecutive and timely payments for the listing to move over to the positive side of your report.
If you have only been late once or twice it you may be able to call and talk with the company yourself before enlisting the help of a erpair agency. |

Hi dragon
As far as I know, you cannot remove any negative listing from your report if it is correct. However, if you can make the creditor agree to pay for deletion agreement, some of the negative listing can be removed from your report once you pay off the debt in full. Again no credit repair agencies can remove bankruptcy or judgments from your credit report as they are public records and cannot be removed. If they claim that they can do so, then they must be lying just to get a business. I think that if you have the patience to repair your credit, you can do it yourself without going for repair agencies. _________________ Where there's a will, there's a way !! |

| When calling always ask for someone "higher" up in the company ladder. If you just simply call the billing office and speak with one of the representives you usaully do not get results. It takes asking to speak with a supervisor or as aby said the administrator. |

| USUALLY, with 'credit companies' all they really do is find out if the late payment is accurate. If it is, then they WON'T take it off your CR. You'll be paying money out of your pocket JUST to find out, either way. I would take the advice from the people that posted above..contact your creditors yourself and see what they can do. |

Me and my husband got Lexington law firm to clean our credit. We had them since November 20.
Please be smart do not get involved with any companies that state that they will clean your credit.
So far they have accomplished to remove 1 idem from our credit and that"s 30 days late payment.
When people are desperate they do desperate things, do not be one of them. You can do more your self. |

| SD some will actually relieve the late payment. I have not done this in years but I have had it done before. There was a news special about how these companies are taking advantage of people. They hire relativaly in experienced people and they do the same thing you can do on your own for free. Also beware of the consolidation companies who have you pay them. This is also another big scam at least most. If you want a reputable company go for a non profit and check BBB web site. |

Hi Dena
It is always better to repair your own credit. Only the thing is that repairing credit takes time and you need to have patience to do so. As per the FTC guidelines, if the credit repair company asks for any fees before they offer you the service they have promised, then you should avoid such companies. Moreover, if the credit repair company claims that they would remove negative information like bankruptcies and judgments from your credit report, they are lying before public records can never be removed before seven years. _________________ SCOTT

| Scott, I thought there was some rule out there that the company had to deliver what it was offering before charging the creditor. For example if they offer to clean up your report removing errors and inquiries then they can not charge you a fee until this is done. Am I correct or may have just heard wrong? I would advise anyone to try doing this themselves before paying someone else to do it. Some credit repair agencies can charge a pretty penny to do somehting you could have easily acckmplished yourself. |

| On my credit repot the only thing that was bad was two late payments with Capital One. when i had my payments up to date I called them if they could do some thing about those two late payments and they agreed to work some thing out. Less than a week later I received a letter from Capital One saying that they corrected the two late payment. Its could take up to 60 days to appear on your credit report. CALL THE CREDITOR COMPANY FIRST and tell them if you can work some thing out. |

i have had capitol one for over 10 years I got sick and my wife was paying the Bills. My wife was 1 day late 2 times in 10 years they raise my rate to 29 % I used my capitol one all the time. I purchase a company vehicle with the credit card at a low percentage rate.As soon as they seen a high amount over 18,000 dollars they hit me with 29 % I will have my other credit card pay off the debt and pay 7 % to my new credit card company.
As far as I can say I was treated unfairly and discriminated by Capitol one. Capitol one I thought was a great company until they pulled this shit on me. Capitol one I can tell you one thing This is America treat us with respect and stop hiring 3rd world countries to do the dirty work for you. STOP HIDING AND FACE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND GIVE US JUSTICE. THE HAWAIIAN KID |
