Subject: Do they have to take the misprint off of the credit?

When you pay your debt with HD and it still shows as bad debt don't they have to show it as paid? My husband was in Iraq and since I was not the main person on his account they refused my payments so it was reported as a bad debt. I have payment proof that I settled with them 2 and 1/2 yrs later but don't they have to show it on the credit?

Hi Carrie,

Were you a cosigner with your husband on his debts? If no, then how can the creditor ask you to settle his debts? Anyways, now you are saying that, you have settled with them but it is not reflecting on your credit report. Well, sometimes it takes long for the credit reporting agencies to get the credit report updated. You need to dispute the inaccurate information in your credit report through dispute letter with the bureau and remember to attach the settlement proof. You can also call the creditor and inquire whether or not they have informed the credit bureau.

Apparently the THD/CBSD or THD CBSD stands for The Home Depot.

Alot of times Citibank will ask you to work out a payment plan with them before sending your account to a collection agency. That way once you settle with them, they will attempt to open your account with them again. Try to remove THD/CBSD from your CR through negotiation.

I just found out my credit score took a dive because of this Shell Credit Card I have had since 1983 took a charge off of $24 dollars in June 2009 . The date of first delinquency is listed as 10/2008. I never heard from them, I didn't get any bill. I wouldn't have just gone off and not paid. How do I get off my credit report?

You can file a dispute with the credit reporting agency and they will contact the creditor to figure out it out.

You can also contact the company directly and ask them what is going on, seems like such a small amount, doesn't seem to enough to ruin a good credit score over.

Contact the credit reporting agency and the company directly to see if you can get any results. If you don't get results then further action may be needed. Let us know how you make out.

THD/CBSD is a Home Depot card issued by Citibank, not BOA

Have you reported this to your employer if it is on your government travel card? I think they would have to step in and do something about it because they have the administrative rights to the card..

That is a very valid concern peacockrancher, hopefully it don't mess the employment it up. I think if Lindsay brings it up to her employer then she should have nothing to worry about and they should be able to put some type of block on this activity.

I would bring it up. Now a days they use your credit score and report for everything. Do you ever remember having this type of card?

I checked my credite report today and I am showing an account titled CHLD/CBSD with no phone number. I think this is my Philips 66 card that I no longer have open. Anyone experience this specific title on their credit report.
