I have an open account with a zero balance. I would like to close the account. Account Number: 7753-0100-6023. Is this possible?

Hi Richard,

I don't think that its safe to mention your account number at a site. However, if you would have been more clear on what kind of account you have, how old it is, it would have been much easier to provide an answer to your question.

If the balance on the account is zero, and if there are no negatives on the account, then there is no need to close the account. If you close the account, all the history of that account will be lost from your credit report.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Aaron

You will need to contact the company directly and let them know that you want to close the account, you can not close the account here.

You can sometimes find the number on back of the credit card, if you have one from them. If not how about a STORE FRONT? iF THERE IS A STORE IN YOUR AREA you can sometimes go in their and get a cashier or customer service to take care of the closing.

I figured it out. My listing is from applying for a credit card from Office Depot.

Hi,

You can send a debt validation letter to FRDF/CBSD. Can you tell whether or not you have ever applied for a loan? FRDF is the name of a store, and CBSD is the credit issuer. If you can't remember dealing with any such company, through debt validation you will come to know whether or not you really owe this debt.

Send the debt validation letter through certified mail, requesting a return receipt. If they fail to validate your debt, you can dispute the item off your report.

Thanks,

Aaron

The account says revolving. It has been 9 years since I paid the debt. Should I call and close the account? It says paid.

I recently checked my credit report and it showed this late payment. In some 15 yrs with HD i have never had a late payment I did complain to both home depot and citi bank that I never received a late payment notification. I did receive a letter from you stating "unable to change the information reported to the credit reporting agencies listed below. as it accurately reflects your account history with us" This is poor customer service for I have never, repeat never paid a debt late. There must be something you can do. This entry affect my credit rating which I deeply resent. This is a matter of principle with me for I do have an excellent rating 755. I ask that you again review my account and considering the lack of notification or receipt of late payment that you remove this black eye from my credit reports. Thank You

This is listed on my credit report, research says RPL is Relianc Petrolium LTD. I don't know this account I have never had an account with CitiBank or Citi Cards. I contacted CitiBank and they gave me some information and I told them I wanted a verification of this account, they sent me a letter with the exact same info that is on the credit report. I sent another letter (certified mail w/ receipt) that they received Aug 12th and on the 22nd I received a collection notice from Northland Group for this account dated Aug 16th. I don't know what to do now. Citi Cards ignored my request and sent it to collection. I would gladly pay this account with proper proof. My bank has frozen my account because of this adverse post on my credit report......what can I do?

I have had this card since 1992 I receive al my bills through the mail. I pay some online. My grand daughter put this bill online. She forgot to tell me or her mother her mom pays my bills when I travel. Shell has put bad marks that brought my fico way down for a $54.00 bill that I never received and they wrote it off. I am sending out letters of dispute and also one to Shell. I talked with them. I would like to have this removed as I had no knowledge of this bill and would not have ruined my credit over this small ammount.Am I following the correct procedure. I can't say what I want in 100 words and have letters from my daughter and grand daughter. I also would like to know if you have the dispute address for Citi CBNA/Shell Thanks
