How do I remove old items upon settlement?

I need to pay off some old items on my credit report, most of which are in collections. I read somewhere that there is a way I can have the creditor remove the item frommy report as part of a settlement agreement. What should I require from the creditor upon payment?

What state do you live in?
how old is this debt?
who is the original creditor?
Is the negative tradeline a Collection Agency or the Original Creditor?

first dispute these items with the CRedit Reporting agency and see if they fall off by accident. then answer my questions and we'll give some advice on what approach you should take.

Hi leslie,

Welcome to this community :)

Can I know how many accounts do you have, and how old are they? When were the last payments made on these accounts? What is the status of these accounts? It would be much easier to help you in your problem if you could list all the account details.

Thanks,

Aaron
