I never received prior notification from the original company on medical bills that are showing on my credit report. Should I go directly to the medical company to request that the items be removed before contacting the CA it was sent to??
If the medical bill company has only authorized the collection agency to collect the debt, then you can contact the medical company and negotiate for a pay for deletion agreement. If they agree to PFD, get it in writing and pay it off. The OC will take the debt back from the CA and remove the negative listing from your report.
