hi, i just saw my credit report as well as my score. I can't believe that it dropped down to 100 points. I had a score of 752 and suddenly lost 100 points when i see no changes in my file. How can this be?!

You should immediately pull out your credit report and find out whether any negative listing like charged off is there in your report. If there is any such negative information, you should immediately send a dispute letter to the bureaus and get it removed from your report. I think that either you have any previous debt which has recently been charged off or the "amounts owed" factor in your credit report has increased.

Have you closed down any of your existing credit cards with a good credit history, or has any of your past credit accounts been closed. If it is so, then your credit score may go down because the credit history gets lost as soon as the account is closed.

Naomi, One of the worst things to do is close out an old account in good standing. If you must leave a zero balance and let the card open. If this has happened and you just closed a credit card try calling the credit card company and discussion reopening the old account. Same will reactivate it if you have been a really good customer. If this isn't the reason then make sure you look closely at your report for any recent activity.
