I have a couple of items on my credit report that I am trying to get removed. The credit bureaus have "verified" all of them within the past 6 months. So last month, I sent letters to CA's and OC's - 2 medical collections - under $400 each) and also 2 original creditors...one was for a cell phone bill - I had changed the plan verbally and they did not change so I got a $800 bill one month for overage. I did not pay it. The other was for a car loan. I was always on time with the payments but I needed to sell quickly when I lost my job and talked to someone at WFS Financial who agreed to settle for less than I owed, but now they are saying it's a charge off on my credit.
So I need letters that I can send to the credit bureaus to remove the information that the CA did not validate and also a letter to remove the information that the original creditors did not research.

If the debt has already been listed as charge off on your credit report, it cannot be removed from your report before seven years by the CA even if you pay back the debt in full. So it is always better to avoid charge off. However, if the debt is still with the OC and has not been sold off to the CA, you can make the OC agree to the pay for deletion agreement, so that as soon as you pay off the debt, the charge off listing gets removed from your report. Only OC can remove a charge off listing from your credit report, not the CA.
