I was reported by the finance company and again a year later by the collection agency? That doesent seem fair. What can i do about this?

Dispute this item directly with credit reporting agency. then dispute this item with the companies that are reporting them. they can't both own the debt. is this debt paid?

Hi mykidzof,

Can you please provide more details on what the creditor is reporting this account as? If the original creditor has handed over the account to a collection agency, and is reporting the account as closed, then yes, the creditor can legally do that. He cannot however add interest, and any other fees onto the outstanding amount.

The collection agnecy is now in charge of the account. Thus, they can report on the account, and even add on the fees, and interest charges.

Thanks,

Aaron
