How do I update the balances with my creditors so they show current on my credit report? I tried calling a creditor and asking them to update the balance and they said they do that every month, but the balance they are showing is still incorrect.

I will give you better suggestion for that,
You will visit website of creditors to get updates of your balance . There you can find out your balance.
Thanks.

If the creditor has not updated the information in your credit report, you can dispute it with the bureaus. The bureaus will get it verified from the creditor and get it updated and mark your account as current. You can also file a complain with the Federal Trade Commission against your creditor if the report does not get updated.

You can contact with the credit-reporting agency and explain them what you want. You can send them a dispute letter via certified mail with a return receipt request. The following link may help you to write a dispute letter:

The person at the bank needs to request a rapid re-score, with the credit vendor that they are using, they will need a letter form each creditor you want corrected, there is a fee for this, (not normal part of a credit report) it takes a bout 72 hours to have it all updated and reflected on your credit report and credit score.

Thank You
