How do you remove wrong things on your credit report ?

There are things on my credit report that aren't mine. How do you get rid of them ? I think they might be my fathers, we have they same name.

Dispute it with the credit agencies. They will investigate it and if they find they are not yours then they will correct it.

First you dispute it with the credit agencies, but if this doesn't work you need to attack the credit furnisher directly.

Hi Jim,

You can first dispute the item with the credit bureaus. However, attach the proof that the debt was not incurred by you. If the credit bureaus fail to remove it from your report, you can directly send a 623 report to the information furnisher.
