I had someone ask me the other day at work and honestly I do not know the answer, so maybe someone here would. We were talking about credit and what affects it.

Anyway, he was wondering when you actually see the change in credit score. I don't actually know, does anyone else

HI Goodnatured,

There is not fixed time frame regarding the change of scores. It depends on certain factors like, the time taken by the creditors or the collection agencies to report to the credit bureau and the time the bureaus take to update the reports. This time period is not a predetermined one. It depends on the individual bureaus as to when they update the report. It takes at least 3 months for the reports to get updated followed by your credit score.

I would also imagine it would depend on how many negatives are showing on the report and a bunch of other factors. Speaking of negatives..If your credit report shows a negative is to fall off on a certain date will it actually fall off around that time frame or when they get to up dating your report? I have one remaining negative that should fall off in July 2010. At least this is what one credit report says. The other two list different dates about a month or so apart.

Hey, FIREYONE.......I had a few 'fall off' this year. So, my credit score should be going up soon. Also..OP, it depends on how old your 'good' credit yes. For example: if you recently received some kind of 'credit' (Credit Card, etc.) you score can lower,..because this means you MAY have MORE credit somewhere,....but, you owe MORE money to someone now. This can LOWER your score, as well. You won't see the change, in your score, until it's updated. I think all of the lenders have their own 'updating system'..so to speak.
