What else to increase score?

Hello,
I have a score of 768 on experian, 773 on transunion. I have 2 hard inquiries - one is valid the other I would like to remove. How can I get it removed? I was looking at refi with a company and decided against them. Also, what else can be done to get a better score? I know this is a good score but what's preventing it from being better? I only have 2 cars with a balance of 15K, and a mortgage with a line of credit. no other date and have never had a late payment and never left a credit card balance. Should I close out old accounts? I know you need more info but just wondering where to start.
Thank you.

That is a really good score.

If you close the old accounts it may lower your score, it will lower your debt to credit ratio. If they are paid off then it shows on the good side and is a positive.

The only thing that I can see by what you are stating here is that you don't have a variety of accounts, maybe if you apply for a credit card, use it and establish a credit history with it also it would show a different type of credit besides your cars and your mortgage.

Hang out, I am sure that others will be a long to offer more advice, goodluck, hope you meet your goals.

HI rmma,

Congratulations!! You have a good score. However, if you still wish to improve it, then you first have to find out if there is incorrect information on your report. If it is a yes, then you must dispute it with the bureau. If you wish to remove the hard inquiry, you can write a hard inquiry removal letter to the creditor asking him to remove it.

Do not close your existing accounts. They are evident of your good payment record. Rather, open up new accounts, may be with a secured credit card and it wisely to increase your score. You might also become a member of a credit union. That will also help you top increase your credit score.

(Speaking 'outloud' here..) Even though your score is very high, OP, don't think it won't go down, for some reason. How will it go down?: Alot of Credit Inquiries, getting MORE credit from something, etc. Don't live 'beyond your means'. Pay down the debt you already have.

wow great score!!! Don't know if mine will ever be that high. You should be proud of yourself. After you get the hard inquiry taken care of it should raise it a few more points. Congrats

I agree with sd here. Although I don't want to scare OP, I'd only like to make OP aware that what SD has said is very true. While it is difficult to reach a credit score like you have (and that is just great!), it is even more difficult to hold it there. Try and pay off any debt that you have without defaulting and paying up within time. Don't borrow beyond what you require and check your credit report at regular intervals to make sure everything is ok.
