Subject: Lien release

Posted on Fri Jun 25, 2010 9:25 pm

I just recieved a lien release from Citizens who took over Charter One. I paid my vechile off over 7 years ago but hadn't noticed they were still listed on my title until a couple weeks ago. I don't have a phone numer but the address it came from is.

Citizens automobile Finance, Inc
P.O Box 42002
Providence, RI 02940-20002

Hope this helps.

I have the same problem and I called 1-800-922-9999 and spoke to the people in the lien holder department and they told me to fax a letter requesting for the lien to be released and they will mail the necessary papers to me.

I just called Citizens Bank in Cleveland and was told that in Ohio, Charter 1 is still Charter 1, not owned by Citizens Bank.

I bought a car in 2001 and was also financed through Charter One Auto Finance Corp. I paid the car off at least 8 years ago and got a new title but also couldn't find the lien release. I wrote the Rochester, NY adddress for auto finance but just received the letter back today saying not deliverable. Now if Citizens bank bought out charter on, they still may not have the info since my car was paid off before they took over. What should I do?

Filed bankruptcy on car around 2001 and they never picked it up. Still have the car but it won't run. I want to get rid of it and off of my property. What can I do with it and where can I drop it off?
